Who are we?
The FTTH (that’s Fibre-to-the-Home) Council Europe wants the world to know how fibre access networks can improve quality of life and promote sustainable socio-economic development in your community.
That’s why we’ve set up the Sustainable Development Committee (SUDEFIB), to provide information about the benefits of FTTH networks for our environment.
Any existing member of the FTTH Council Europe can join, and input is welcomed from all external parties with an interest in FTTH and its relationship to sustainable development.
Present and future needs
The United Nations has defined sustainable development as ‘meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’. This accords well with SUDEFIB’s own vision.
The world is crying out for development that is sensitive to environmental and social as well as economic demands. That’s why SUDEFIB is campaigning for FTTH to be recognised as a sustainable communications solution with long-term benefits for everyone. We’re SUDEFIB, the FTTH Council Europe’s Sustainable Development Committee, and it’s our job to spread the news about how fibre optic connections to the home improve people’s lives and enable green economic development.
